Louise Chudleigh
Louise Chudleigh has been called to the Bars of England and Wales (1987) and Bermuda (1988). She specialises in civil litigation, with an emphasis on employment and discrimination law.
She is regularly instructed in claims concerning restrictive covenants, misuse of confidential information and breach of contract as well as lengthy and complex discrimination and multi-party equal pay cases. Ms Chudleigh’s practice also encompasses public law disputes, human rights matters, healthcare regulatory work, professional discipline as well as general civil litigation, including injunctive proceedings and disputes about the payment of bonuses.
Ms. Chudleigh is recognised by legal directories as being a leading practitioner and is regarded as a skilled cross-examiner and is popular with clients. She is described in the UK edition of Chambers and Partners 2008 as “responsive and accessible – an excellent advocate and communicator” and in 2009 as “consistently reliable and user-friendly.” She appears regularly in the High Court as well as in Appeal Courts. Recently reported cases include: WRN Ltd V Ayris [2008] IRLR 889, a case involving the enforcement of restrictive covenants and Alitalia Airport Spa v Akrif [2008] ICR 813, a case about dispute resolution regulations. She is currently instructed by a local authority in the largest equal pay claim in Europe involving approximately 5,000 claimants.
Ms Chudleigh is an accredited mediator and has significant experience of mediations. She has also been a part-time Employment Judge in the UK since 2001.
